War of 1812 Final Project The war of 1812 began because America got mad at Britain Because they started to impress american people to join their Royal Navy. It also started because of America’s desire for more territory. America didn’t like the fact the the British was coming over to America and just taking American people and forcing them to be in their Royal Navy. American troops tried to defend themselves in New York, Baltimore and New Orleans, and they were successful in doing so and it boosted National confidence and it fostered a new Spirit of Patriotism.

Because of the impressment, in 1807 Jefferson did pass the embargo act that prohibited the ship to travel to foreign ports, but later it was changed to the Non-Intercourse act and all trade with France and Britain was prohibited so that other routes were created to alleviate the economic distress. Some men, called the War Hawks welcomed the war with Britain because they thought the impressment was an insult to Americans national honor and they wanted to put an end to it. Some war Hawks also expansionist that wanted to expand into Florida and threaten Canada. The war Hawks got defense expenditures approved and the army quadrupled in size and they were ready to fight a war.

They were both targeted to destroy many lives as well as property. The pearl harbor attack destroyed about 2000 lives and a large amount of military equipment and supplies such as 20 american vessels and more than 300 airplanes. The September 11 attack was meant to take big amount of innocent lives including men, women, and children, it took about 3000 lives. Also since the twin towers were financial and business buildings, they meant to destroy the economy of the country.

This is due to the fact that both battles practically develop in the same way. In both battles there is an initial task which is accomplished by defeating the villain. As news of the harm reaches the hero, the hero decides to act and leaves home, to battle the villains. Victory is finally achieved after combat and therefore, the initial hurt is repaired. There were not a lot of similarities between the book and the movie; at least not a lot that stood out.
