In the book of mice and men there are two characters named George and Lennie. George and Lennie were robust friends and had known each other from a young age. They worked and traveled together. Lennie was not completely sane and couldn 't help it. In the book of “mice and men” Lennie murders a lady.
George had to kill Lennie, unless he wanted Curley to get to Lennie. Lennie was in imminent danger
At the end of the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck our main character George Milton is forced to kill his best friend Lennie Small. After Lennie kills the wife of a character named Curley he runs off into the woods. If George didn’t kill Lennie he would’ve been killed by a mob and if he turned him into the police he would’ve been sent to Jail where he would live out the rest of his life behind bars locked in a cell, or worse. Based on the evidence presented in the text killing Lennie was the best thing George could’ve done for his friend. Towards the end of the book Lennie Small accidentally strangles the wife of one of our characters, after finding out who killed her Curley assembles a mob who want Lennie dead for the murder
The side that I am choosing is that George should have killed Lennie because Lennie can’t live by himself, he is mentally challenged, and Curley would have killed him anyway if George didn 't. Lennie is mentally challenged and he likes to talk to dead animals and other different things. He gets in trouble a lot and can 't really do anything by himself because he will always be getting in trouble if he is by himself. “Jus wanted to feel that girl’s dress-jus wanted to pet it like it was mouse(Steinbeck 11). The quote proves my reason because Lennie got both George and Lennie in trouble because he wanted to feel a girls dress. George should have killed Lennie because Lennie can 't live by himself and I believe if George didn 't kill Lennie
" Pulling the trigger might have been a hard thing for George because killing Lennie would ruin their dreams this shows that George thought the best thing for lennie now was for him to die because he was already in so much trouble because of what he did in weed with the girl in the red dress and now he killed Curley 's wife so George didn 't want him to get himself into anymore problems so it was the best for him , this is why he killed Lennie it would be the best thing to do to not do anything more like hurting
One reason George should not have killed Lennie because everything that happened, was an accident. Lennie did not mean to kill Curley’s wife or the puppy. In the passage, Of mice and men, lennie says “I don’t want ta hurt you” (Steinbeck 91). This piece of evidence from the passage shows that Lennie did not mean to hurt Curley’s wife. Lennie only meant to keep her quiet , not kill her.
Another reason is the ranchers would’ve killed him no matter what so this way George ensured it was fast and painless. On the other hand, this was condemned because George had been saying how his life would be so much better without Lennie and this allowed him to be able to live that life. George's decision to kill Lennie was justified because Lennie was going to be killed no matter what. After all of the ranchers find out that Lennie killed Curley’s wife, Curley states that he is going to kill Lennie, "I'm gonna get him.
This proves that Lennie is innocent and that Curley is the one who caused his own unfortunate incident in the bunkhouse. The quotation shows that George is even more to blame than Lennie is because George was the one that told him to do it, and that Lennie proclaimed that he did not want to hurt
Lennie killed, the farm owners son, Curley’s wife by accident. The whole situation causes George to make a life changing decision; to kill Lennie or not kill him. He makes the choice of killing him. Many people believe George was justified in killing someone very close to him, his best friend, Lennie because he would have had a slow, painful death if he had not. Others believe he was not justified in killing him.
When Lennie gets in a panic in clings on to something soft. Lennie has killed a mouse and pup. Then one day Lennie was with the dead pup and Curley’s wife came in and Lennie told her he couldn’t talk to her. Then she never listened and stayed and then Lennie and Curley’s wife started arguing and then Lennie had a panic attack and put his hands around Curley’s wife’s neck and killed her. I believe that George had the right to kill Lennie because Lennie has killed a girl, puppy and mice, George is responsible for Lennie, and either way Lennie is going to suffer.
George Milton was Justified Murder is considered an unforgivable and immoral act of cruelty. However, under certain circumstances, it may not be so clear-cut and straightforward. In John Steinbeck’s book, Of Mice and Men, George Milton makes a decision to kill his friend, Lennie Smalls. This was because Lennie had killed a woman, not fully understanding what he was doing because of his intellectual disability.
Of Mice and Men Persuasive Essay “ Even the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. “. In the book of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George, one of the main characters, has to kill his best friend- Lennie Small. He does this for a few different reasons.
“She struggled violently under his hands. Her feet battered on the hay and she withered to be free; and from under Lennie’s hand came a muffled screaming” (Steinbeck 91). After the death of Curley’s wife it became clear to George that no matter what, Lennie was going to cause trouble whether he meant it or not, anywhere they were to go. George didn’t have any choice but to kill Lennie.
In “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, George made the right decision in shooting Lennie because Lennie did not know his own strength. Another reason is If George did not kill Lennie others would have killed him. However, the other side might argue that Lennie did not mean to kill Curley’s wife, thus he deserves to live. George should have killed Lennie because Lennie did not know his own strength, that is the reason why he killed many things by accident and caused many problems. “Why do you got to get killed?
In the novella, Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, George’s decision to kill Lennie at the end of the novel was justified. George and Lennie were best friends, and have been since they were little. They got ran out of Weed(the old farm they used to work at) for harassing a girl and not letting her go. He was just scared from her screaming and kicking. He didn’t mean to harm, or scare her.
