William Shakespeare is arguably the greatest writer in English Language history and is considered as the greatest dramatist of all time. Two of Shakespeare’s most famous plays are Hamlet & Macbeth. Both of the plays names are the names of the main characters in each play. Both of these plays are known worldwide. The main characters are tragic heroes in each type of way. In both of Shakespeare’s plays, Hamlet & Macbeth are connected through the plays story background and the connections they have play a significant role in the play.

In Macbeth, the three witches give Macbeth prophecies in which he takes action on. This leads him to killing King Duncan just so he fulfills the prophecy. “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!”
(I, III, 49-51) The witches call Macbeth King and he gets confused. Later he knows that his future is to be king and murders King Duncan. Hamlet speaks to his father’s ghost and is bound to follow the commissions given to him by the ghost.
