During the period between 1450 and 1750, European traders started to get more involved in Chinas and Japan's politics. One similarity between China and Japan in their relations with European traders is that in both countries european traders were welcomed at first, however the relationship soon turned sour. In China, the Qing dynasty sold limited trading privileges to European powers but confined them only to Guangzhou. The British was not satisfied with this arrangement, so they asked for more trading rights. As a result, In a letter to King George III Emperor Qianlong states that the chinese had no need for British products.
Classical Athens and Han China are different from each other by its size and scope, the types of government, and how philosophers influence their societies. Athens was located in modern-day Greece next to the Mediterranean Sea. China was located in East Asia next to the Pacific Ocean. Trade was greatly increasing in these two trade routes around this time.
Athens, Rome, Han China, and Ancient Egypt all have similar and different geography, history and government. First in Athens they had a Direct democracy. In Athens they picked 500 men to come together and vote. In Rome they had a Republic. Because they had so much land each section had to have their citizens vote for a representative.

Han China and Mauryan India had many similarities. They were both bureaucracies, they both had emperors, and both empires established their laws on religious belief. They also had a lot of contrasting ideas for positioning their people, and they had contrasting ideas for their different religious standpoints. One empire put more weight on logic, and the other more on religion.
When China's influences took place with both Korea and Japan, the practices created similar/different societies using the same techniques. One similarity between China and India was social mobility. In the Vedic Age, the Caste system was not completely inflexible to change. “More often, however, social mobility came about as the result of group rather than individual efforts, as members of the jati improved their conditions collectively.” ( Bentley, pg82) During the Vedic Period people worked together as a coherent group and could move up with effort, but at the same time could move down the Varnas.
