One of the most horrific examples of oppression and persecution in the world was the holocaust. During my time spent on this topic, I found it Incredible how resilient people were during this unfortunate time. Two texts that we have read, Maus I and "Often a Minute,” focus on how people's will to survive bands them together. Each text shows this in a different way, but maintains the same focal statement. The graphic novel Maus I used the topic that people will fight relentlessly to keep themselves, and the ones they love safe. On page 110 panel 1-8 it show how Vladek had made a bunker to save himself and his family/friends from being take to the death camps. The text says, "Yes, we had in Srodula to make for ourselves "bunkers," places to hide."
