Percy Jackson & the Olympians, the Lightning Thief, shows us that the Gods and Goddesses we have known is not who they really are. Percy Jackson & the Olympians, the Lightning Thief is a movie directed by Chris Columbus. The movie is about the thunderbolt incident and the journey to finding who the thief is. The main character in the movie, Percy Jackson shows that not to let the look of a person you are seeing defines who they are or not all of what they truly are, but for their achievements to define who they really are. To start off, Percy Jackson contributes to the theme of the movie through his characteristics. At the beginning of the movie, Percy Jackson is shown as a normal and an average young teen. The theme is first introduced when Zeus accused Poseidon’s son, which is Percy Jackson to be the one who stole the lightning bolt and expected Percy to return his lightning bolt in fourteen days. Zeus did not care to investigate who Percy Jackson is, but Zeus just bluntly accuses Percy of his actions of stealing the bolt. Zeus should have not simply judged Percy because of his look and should have done further investigation into who really stole his lightning bolt. Before Percy Jackson set out on the adventure, he was introduced to Luke, the son of Hermes and Luke gave Percy equipment like his favorite shield, the map to get the three Persephone’s pearls, and the Talaria, flying sandals for his journey. Luke’s action fools the audience to be a nice guy who just wants to help his friends. It was later on that Luke was revealed to be the lightning bolt thief. It shows that you should not assume that Luke is good-natured just because he did a nice thing to Percy Jackson when he is really putting makeup on him to make him the nice guy, not somebody who stole the lightning
