Similar to Romeo and Juliet, Rewrite The Stars commences with assessing how two lovers handle their relationships, and comes full circle as the two lovers realize they’re, “hands are tied” ( Efron and Zendaya 1). The realization that nothing can be done is found in the song and Romeo and Juliet and, which is also the reason Romeo and Juliet to take their lives. Additionally, Juliet and Zendaya’s persona are very similar in the sense that both are very cautious and careful of their love, contrary to the men. Moreover, the basis of Romeo and Juliet’s love is established on the foundation of destiny. Given the audience knows the future of Romeo and Juliet, the whole play is an example of dramatic irony, which adds more suspense to this plot.
In act 1 scene 5 a hall in Capulet's house, I acted as Romeo. In my opinion, my acting company had a great overall performance. The day before our performance, we had a dressed rehearsal and we were told that we needed to fix our blocking and visual delivery and overnight our group got together and worked together. Playing Romeo, I had to play as a young man falling in love with a girl at first sight, for the first time seeing Juliet, Romeo was amazed at how beautiful this young girl was. At the beginning of the scene Romeo spoke to himself about what he thought of Juliet.
Do you remember reading a thrilling story that you could actually relate too? Numerous stories today tell the inspiring stories of people by many authors; however, I feel The Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet both portray similar themes in the context of the story. For example, both show the importance of love, family, and fate in the context of the story. In the story Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is passionately in love with Juliet.
Next is the comparison of Tybalt’s hate of the Montagues and now the major problem that is sitting on Watney’s plate. Tybalt hates the Montagues with a passion, this is why he has such a short fuse when he spots Romeo “ Uncle, this is a Montague, our foe; A villain, that is hither come in spite, To scorn at our solemnity this night.” (1.5). Tybalt catches site of Romeo and as soon as he sees him he off letting the head Capulet know, wanting Romeo to be eliminated just as later on he murders Mercutio. Knowing he is short on resources Watney puts his mind to it to try to solve his problem.
Pardoned or Punished? “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.92). If everyone had listened to the Prince no one would have died. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, and Lord Capulet should all be punished for their crimes. Friar Lawrence should be punished for his actions.
In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio states that “dreams are the children of an idle brain” after talking to Romeo about Queen Mab and how she manipulates people’s dreams based on their lifestyle. I agree with the statement because a dream is an imagination you have when you are asleep for your own sensation and are usually not possible. Dreams are made up based on the subconsciousness of the human mind. For example, Mercutio states that “Begot of nothing but vain fantasy” (I.iv.99). Mercutio is basically saying that dreams are fantasies and are based on the desires of the human mind and that they do not occur in real-life.
The Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, demonstrate that choosing acts of hatred over compassion can cause consequences that intervene with death, relationships and neighborhoods. From Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird, the characters who chose to respond to situations with resentment lead to the loss of other lives. During Aunt Alexandia’s missionary society meeting she is interrupted by her brother, Atticus Finch with the news of his client, Tom Robinson's death. Atticus delivers the devastating news,“They shot him (…)
Teen suicide is one of the most over looked problems The United States is dealing with today. According to a nationwide survey, 16% of high schoolers have seriously considered committing suicide, 13% of them formed a plan on how they would complete the task, and about 8% of those students followed through. The story Romeo and Juliet may seem like love story between two star crossed lovers, but in reality it was about two unstable teenagers dealing with mental disorders that contributed to the resolution of the story, them both taking their own lives. Most people believe that Romeo and Juliet committed suicide because they were destined to die, but on the contrary, Juliet really committed suicide, because she was going through major depression,
Everlasting Love: Love Kills In three similar stories-- “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”, “Pyramus and Thisbe”, and the article “A Modern Day Tale of Romeo and Juliet”-- each have a common theme of sacrifice and desperation, which are both two different aspects and angles of love. In ”The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”, Romeo and Juliet are children of two rival families and they meet and fall in love. After their plan to be together goes wrong due to a miscommunication, both Romeo and Juliet end up taking their lives.
Both stories have similarities in characters. For instance, Romeo’s love for Juliet is as great as Danny’s love for Sandy. Both characters have forces that keep them away from their true love. In the same way they are both round characters since they show multiple sides through the whole story. Danny changes every time he is near his friends.
I have accomplished so much from this Shakespeare project. I have learned how to right in a better format as well as my use of words. As much as I learned how to write and type better I also learned so much about Shakespeare and his plays. William gave each character so much characteristics. I got to learn so much about William Shakespeare himself.
Introduction: “A classic is a book that has never finished what it has to say.” This is a quote from Italo Calvino. What does one consider a classic? Characters, themes, and remakes are all characteristics of a classics. Romeo and Juliet are compared to Annie, the movie, by remakes, characters, and themes.
The Medea by Euripides and Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare mark as significant works of the ancient society the two play features aspects that are crucial to the modern society if properly analyzed. In a number of ways each of the authors to the play has illustrated the theme of betrayal each of the main characters and the events that they encounter in their life puts them in a position to betray or be betrayed by others. Elements of betrayal in Medea occur mainly to Jason and Medea based on their relationship as husband and wife. On the other hand, the aspects of betrayal evident in the case of Juliet and Romeo are due to the fact that they are lovers. One of the major similarities between the two plays is that love I the root cause of the theme of betrayal.
In my U.S. History class, my teacher has an image of The Mona Lisa because there some history behind the picture. For example, who drew The Mona Lisa? Well, it was Leonardo da Vinci. Also, this portrait is one of the most famous portrait during the Renaissance. Back then wealthy people, like kings; nobles; etc., were able to afford the portrait, but now most people can afford it.
A joke is usually an idea that contains a sense of humour and usually provokes laughter. What means by humour is something that makes a person laugh or smile, ‘the quality of being funny’. (Blake, B. J. (2007), pg.1) A majority of jokes have a set-up and a punchline. (Blake, B. J. (2007), pg.3)
