Do you remember reading a thrilling story that you could actually relate too? Pardoned or Punished? “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.92). If everyone had listened to the Prince no one would have died. Shakespeare uses the form of a sonnet to set up the dialogue between Romeo and Juliet. The contrasting imagery in the sonnet suggests that even though Romeo and Juliet are physically attracted to each other Shakespeare implies that their love is pure and innocent in comparison to the previous views of love expressed by the Nurse and Mercutio. Firstly, the imagery in the sonnet is highly romantic and religious, yet often physical. For instance, in line 3-4 Romeo says “This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: / My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand. ” In this passage, Romeo says many religious terms such as holy, shrine, gentle, sin, blushing, pilgrims, this portrays that Romeo and Juliet 's love is very innocent and pure as there are many religious allusion.
In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio states that “dreams are the children of an idle brain” after talking to Romeo about Queen Mab and how she manipulates people’s dreams based on their lifestyle. I agree with the statement because a dream is an imagination you have when you are asleep for your own sensation and are usually not possible. Dreams are made up based on the subconsciousness of the human mind. For example, Mercutio states that “Begot of nothing but vain fantasy” (I.iv.99). Mercutio is basically saying that dreams are fantasies and are based on the desires of the human mind and that they do not occur in real-life.
The Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, demonstrate that choosing acts of hatred over compassion can cause consequences that intervene with death, relationships and neighborhoods. From Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird, the characters who chose to respond to situations with resentment lead to the loss of other lives. Atticus delivers the devastating news,“They shot him (…)
Romeo and Juliet In Act II Scene II of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is outside Juliet’s window confessing his love for her. Juliet is pleased but worried. He tells her that she is the most important thing to him and he came to see her even if that means he could die. This is one of the most important scenes in the book because it makes the reader uneasy and understand the weight of the situation. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses strong diction, syntax, and mood to create the legendary story of Romeo and Juliet.

Upon first meeting Romeo at her father’s masked party, she does not shy away from his forward nature as would be proper and typical of an unmarried girl but rather engages him in playful banter and builds upon their flirtation. She even engages in a kiss with Romeo that very night. Yet the qualities that make up Romeo and Juliet respectively are what draw them together and merge their
The definition of unconditional love is affection without any limitations, it can also be love without conditions. Most people might not believe in unconditional love, but in Romeo and Juliet's case, they might agree. Romeo and Juliet love each other unconditionally, so much so that they are willing to die for each other. Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other at first sight. I have accomplished so much from this Shakespeare project. I have learned how to right in a better format as well as my use of words. I got to learn so much about William Shakespeare himself.
William Shakespeare’s Novel “Romeo and Juliet” is the story about two lovers brought together by fate, but die tragically out of love for eachother. In the story, Romeo is depicted and bashful yet eager to fight those who hurt the ones he loves. For example, in act three scene one, Romeo and Tybalt, an enemy to him and a cousin to Juliet, duel to the death after Tybalt killed Mercutio; Romeo’s friend. While in the book, the duel is not portrayed, I tried to draw it out the way I think it went.
The Renaissance period is the break away from Catholic church, in which it happened during the medieval era and the modern world. In the renaissance period it was the buildup of literature and arts. Many scholars started to study classics, and this was the time William Shakespeare started to write the play Romeo and Juliet. In the play, the star-crossed lover persuades each other with poetry of love; when they fell in love at first sight at the Capulet ball. The movie connects to the renaissance period because during that period of time, high class women were expected to married the same class men.
William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is different from his other tragedies because there is no clear distinction of the heroes. Both of the characters are less active and more passive; the two are immature and lack comprehension of others’ feelings. The hero is almost always assumed to be the romantic Romeo. But Romeo’s corrupt upbringing, emotional tantrums, accidental murders, and imprudent actions make him a poor contender for a hero. Juliet shows that she is more innocent than Romeo because she tends to make better choices.
