Good morning to the board of Universal Studios, my purpose of this speech is to talk about the never seen before appropriation of the fight scene in Act 3 Scene 1 from Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet , and also to persuade why my appropriation is suitable to the modern audience. Each character of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet has been taken and recreated to suit the context of my appropriation .In Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Scene 1 , Tybalt want to fight Romeo but Romeo refuses out of love for Juliet. Mercutio fights in Romeo place and was killed. Realising his cowardice Romeo fight Tybalt and kills him.
Pardoned or Punished? “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.92). If everyone had listened to the Prince no one would have died. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence, Nurse, and Lord Capulet should all be punished for their crimes. Friar Lawrence should be punished for his actions.
This quote is Romeo’s proposal for Juliet, which is a major part of the play. Romeo did not put any thought into his decision to marry Juliet, they have only known each other for a few hours. This marriage cannot possibly lead to anything good, due to the fact that these two families are rivals. Another impulsive decision is shown
In act 1 scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet Romeo speaks these lines because he is depressed and in grief. In this scene Romeo’s one true love Rosaline has broken his heart. She has decided to become a nun so she will stay a virgin forever. Romeo is feeling sorry for himself and thinking that he will never get over Rosaline. Benvolio starts crying because he is sad for Romeo but Romeo does not welcome his tears.
In act 2, scene 2, Juliet assumes an unconventional role and asserts her control over Romeo in order to achieve independence and fulfill her desires. As Juliet discovers Romeo’s presence in the Capulet garden, she does not suppress her curiosity towards him and questions him without hesitation. When she first sees him, she states, “What man art thou that,... / So stumblest on my counsel?”
This scene is when Romeo and Juliet go to get married by Friar Lawrence. Before they get married, Friar has a conversation with Romeo regarding his sudden change in demeanor, as only a day before, he was depressed over Rosaline’s rejection of him. This scene serves to further develop Romeo’s character in the same way as Quote 2, as a lover who has moved on so quickly. Friar is taken aback when he sees Romeo, saying “Holy Saint Francis, what a change is here! Is Rosaline, that thou didst love so dear,
After the ball, in what is presently called the "overhang scene", Romeo sneaks into the Capulet plantation and catches Juliet at her window vowing her affection to him regardless of her family's contempt of the Montagues. Juliet visits Minister Laurence for help, and he offers her an elixir that will place her into a deathlike trance like state for "two and forty hours. " The Monk guarantees to send an errand person to educate Romeo of the arrangement, with the goal that he can rejoin her when she stirs. Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, is maddened at Romeo for sneaking into the ball, however is just halted from executing Romeo by Juliet's dad, who doesn't wish to shed blood in his home. Induced by Benvolio and Mercutio, Romeo goes to the ball at the Capulet house with expectations of meeting Rosaline.
In pursuit of new love Romeo, Mercutio and Benvolio decide to attend a Capulet only party. Benvolio tells Romeo to: “At this same ancient feast of Capulet’s Sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves With all the admired beauties of Verona. Go thither, and with unattainted eye” (1.2.89-92). Within the quote Benvolio encourages Romeo to get over his rash love for Rosaline and compare her to other girls at the party. The haste within the pursuit for love leads to death for many involved.
For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” (Romeo and Juliet 1.2.). Romeo has been falling in and out of love in a short duration of time. He was first infatuated with Rosaline but, the thought of her is suddenly erased from his mind when his eyes are laid onto Juliet as if it was true ‘love at first sight’. Due to Romeo’s immaturity and approach towards those that appeal to his
FRIAR. Hold fast, young Romeo! Be still and living whilst I catch my breath. [Bends forward and wheezes.] ROMEO.
This quotation also links back to one of the most important themes in Romeo and Juliet which is the tension between family and social identity which can be represented by a person name. Juliet believe that love stems from one’s inner identity and that the dispute between the Capulet and Montagues is a produce of the outer identity which is based only on name. Because of this her love for Romeo overrides her family’s hatred for the Montague’s name. Juliet is stating that she does not love Romeo for his name and if he has another name her love for him would not differ. She is also committing herself to Romeo and it shows how strong her love is for Romeo that she would deny her own family for him.
ditches the party to go find Juliet his friend Mercutio and Benvolio go looking for Romeo and they cant find him so they mock Romeo about his feeling towards Rosaline so they give up the search because Benvolio assumes that Romeo doesn't want to be found .Romeo spots Juliet in the window and he tries to speak to her but he knows better .Romeo say his love to Juliet is so strong that nothing would stand on his way.romeo
Verona, Italy Earlier this week, two teens, Montague and Capulet were seen together behind the Capulet house. They were supposedly kissing behind the Capulet house where the ball was taking place. What began as a relaxing party turned into a romantic love scene.q The people of Verona were shocked to hear that both Montagues and Capulets could be together. As spotted by many people Romeo and Juliet began by holding hands and things began to escalate.
“Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own” (H. Jackson Brown Jr.). There is so much love in the world. It is a great thing to have. Love is stronger than hate because many couples still love each other after a long period of time, everyone wants someone to love them, and knowing someone who will always be there is a very good thing to have. Everyone would like to have someone love them.
