Do you remember reading a thrilling story that you could actually relate too? Numerous stories today tell the inspiring stories of people by many authors; however, I feel The Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet both portray similar themes in the context of the story. For example, both show the importance of love, family, and fate in the context of the story. In the story Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is passionately in love with Juliet.
How do Shakespeare and Baz Luhrmann engage their audiences in the opening scenes and set up the major themes of the play and film? William Shakespeare was baptised on the 26th of April 1564 and he passed away on the 23 April 1616. He was an English poet and regarded as the best writer in the English language. William Shakespeare wrote many plays and one of his most famous ones is Romeo and Juliet. In Shakespeare’s times his actors would perform the play on a stage in the middle of the city.
“For never was a story of more woe. Than Juliet and her Romeo.” The story of Romeo and Juliet is very tragic and romantic. Juliet has two boys who want to take her hand in marriage. How lucky?
There are many similarities and differences between some of literature’s most famous works. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare can be compared to Harper Lee’s, To Kill a Mockingbird. Both works are very well-known to most. There are obvious relationships between the two. Despite an obvious difference, that one is a play and one is a novel, they can be compared with their plot, literary devices and subjects.
Stars; these seem to be very important figures in the story of Romeo and Juliet, a lyric poem, story and play, written by William Shakespeare. It supposedly relates to fate and is talked about repeatedly throughout the story. I look at the stars way up high and see them in their "predetermined" locations. They 're metaphorical because of how easy it is to compare stars and fate. I notice Shakespeare 's intentions when comparing destiny and the stars.
Act 3 Summary: At the beginning of act 3, Benvolio and Mercutio are talking to each other in a public place. Out of nowhere Tybalt and others arrive, they start talking to Mercutio plus Benvolio. Romeo enters wanting peace towards Tybalt, who is angry that Romeo came to the Capulet’s party. Mercutio gets mad at the words being said by Tybalt, which makes both of them draw their swords.
In act five Romeo’s servant tells Romeo that Juliet is dead and because he had not heard any news for the Friar he believes this. The then goes and buys a poison that will kill him. He then leaves for Verona while Friar Laurence learns that his letter to Romeo was never delivered. When Romeo arrives at the tomb Paris is decorating the tomb with flowers and then Romeo and Paris fight. Romeo ends up killing Paris and he places him in the tomb as he requested.
While watching Romeo and Juliet and The Fault In Our Stars, I could not help but notice the parallel action of the two movies. In the same way, both stories end in tragedy like the main couple’s of the stories end up in tragic. In the meantime, Romeo and Juliet are torn because of a rivalry between two families. Romeo and Juliet is one of the most central concepts of William Shakespeare. Whereas Romeo and Juliet both fallen in love quickly during the masquerade and feast.

They are a like and different in a couple ways One of the similarities that both stories have is when the couple decides they cant be a part no more so the meet up. in Rome and Juliet. the couple make a plan to meet up in secret and in The Love Story of Pyramus and Thisbe, the couple realize that they cant be apart from each other so they meet up also. this is one of the similarities they have.

For our summative, Tori, Michelle and I created a dance showing the connections between Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. The two books share four main themes; love, courage, difference and abuse. Personally, I think dance is the best way to tell a story. By telling a story through movement there are so many more ways to express emotion and tell the story from a different perspective. My group members and I started the choreography finding multiple connections between the two books, such as: fights between main characters, secret relationships and fate, and started to think of movement phrases to go with these connections.

Although mentioned several times in the play, fate has nothing to do with the death of the two doomed lovers. The choices that they make ultimately lead to their destruction.
