The King Claudius and his Queen Gertrude were having a discussion with Hamlet’s old school friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. They still didn’t have a clue as to why he was crazy. When Rosencrantz and Guildenstern told the king and queen about Hamlet’s spirit towards the play. After hearing this Claudius and Gertrude agreed that they would come and see it. Hamlet soon after had a meeting with Ophelia and Claudius ordered Polonius to come with him to spy on them. Polonius then hears Hamlet coming and he and Claudius hide. Hamlet came in speaking to himself questioning whether he should commit suicide to end his pain of sorrowness. He asked himself “ to be or not to be”. He tells her “ get thee to a nunnery “. He criticized women for making men behave like monsters. Hamlet then left in a angry rush and Ophelia is only left to thing that he really is mad. Claudius and Polonius come out from behind the curtain and the king states that Hamlet’s strange behavior is not for the love Ophelia furthermore his speech did not seem crazy at all. Claudius started fearing that Hamlet would soon start doing something bad to him. So he decided that Hamlet was going to be sent to England hoping that a change in location would help Hamlet with his behavior. Polonius asked Claudius to send Hamlet to Gertrude's room afterwards so that he can spy on them again. Claudius says yes to the request and says “madness in great ones must be carefully watched”. As the play was about to begin Hamlet was lecturing all the actors to make sure that they get all the scenes correctly. He then Tells Horatio that it was Claudius who killed his father having learned that from the ghost. He asks him to watch Claudius carefully to see if his expressions on his face changes throughout the play.
