The world is filled with many people, some being athletic, intelligent, or socially weird; everybody is unique in their own way. An example of person that is socially awkward is the protagonist in the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Christopher. He suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, and as a result this causes him to have problems with social interactions with other people and tries to distance himself from other people. However, he seems to like math very much, this is because he sees it as being very “logical” because math does not have many exceptions and is very clear cut, he also seems very keen at solving problems, much so that idolizes and wishes to be like the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock also seem to share a few similarities with Christopher in one way or another. Sherlock Holmes is a world renowned detective that is famous for solving mysteries and is always on the hunt for a case. Christopher from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and Sherlock Holmes are similar to the point where their social interactions with other people are awkward and the way that they prioritize themselves over the others around them. To start off with, Christopher and Sherlock both seem to have trouble when engaging with those around them and appear socially awkward to them.
