Simba and Hamlet go through a similar experience ,but they have completely different behaviors, but why do they? In Hamlet, a boy named Hamlet finds out his father, the king, dies due to his brother Claudius. Hamlet sets out a revenge plan to kill Claudius after his fathers ghosts insist on taking revenge for him. While in the Lion King , Simba thinks he killed his father Mufsa who is the king, so he leaves his kingdom disappearing for a long time. To his surprise Mufsa’s brother scar actually killed Simba’s father, simba finds out after he comes back and tries to get his throne back and in order to do that he had to result in killing Scar. The Lion King adapts the story of Hamlet to reach its audience by showing Nala and Simba’s relationship way more healthy and how the characters are seen as animals in the Lion king. …show more content…
Both of them always look out for each other. Unlike in Act 1 how Hamlet gives Ophelia gifts ,but then later would only insult her in Act 3. Making this change in the Lion king was significant since showing a bad relationship can influence to think its normal. The kids will think it is okay to treat their partner like that. Like Hamlet constantly was degrading Ophelia when he was mad in Act 3. Especially when he only got nice to her again after she died in Act 4. It would not be appropriate to show that in the Lion King to children since Hamlet he verbally abuses Ophelia. Which is not good since it shows a toxic relationship to kids. Nala and Simba show a child friendly relationship while this is not the only change to the Lion King to appear more kid
