What I just read reminds me of The Maze Runner because they have similarities. Fahrenheit 451 is about a character named Guy Montag who works as a fireman. One day he met a girl named Clarisse McClellan, who is different from everyone and she made Montag realize that his job is not “justice”. The Maze Runner is about a boy named Thomas, who woken up in a maze and don’t know where he is. He doesn’t remember anything about him and there are other people like him. She can also control when I can watch TV and when I can play video games. Like the government, she have absolute power and I can’t defy it. I feel like the public in Fahrenheit 451. We have no power over the higher-powers because we are too scared of punishments.
I don’t agree with what I just read because in my own life, I have to go to school and children in the book don’t have to. People progresses by learning and experiencing. Without books and printed materials, there wouldn’t be any materials to learn from except with experience. Not everyone has the same experience so most won’t be able to make connections with other people’s ideas. Books allow people to write down their experience and can be shared with many people. Most people understand more from reading visually than listening.
What I just read makes me think about The Qin Dynasty because of a similar event happened. Qin Dynasty (221 BC-206 BC) was the first emperor ruled dynasty in China and the era when the Great Wall was built. During the ruling of Qin Shi Huang, he don’t want people to learn and be knowledgeful, so he burn all the books and executed most scholars. This events is similar to the one happening in Fahrenheit 451 in which the government suppresses and banned
