Dorothy Gale is a young girl who lives in Kansas and when a tornado hits her house gets flown through the air and is teleported into OZ. Dorothy needs to get back home to her family and needs help. Her mentor, the Good Witch of the East, tells her to go to Emerald city to talk to the wizard. On Dorothy’s adventure through the woods she meets new friends, the lion, the tin man, and the scarecrow. They all head the Emerald City together for each of their necessary needs.
The Lion the Witch and the wardrobe is a movie based off a book written by C.S. Lewis. The movie has many parallels to the Paschal Mystery; which is the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However the plot of the movie is not similar to the Paschal Mystery, they are very different. But their are moments in the movie that are similar to Jesus’ Life, in the time of His crucifixion.

How the Production of the Wizard of Oz differs from the Novel Charles Baldwin The film and novel differ the most in their characterization and the honoring of the fairy tale rules. The first way that the film and the novel differ is in the characterization of the various characters in the tale. The novel briefly describes each character while the film gives all the major characters dual roles: one for reality and one for Dorothy's fantasy. For example in the book dorothy has magic slippers but they are silver and in the movie for more a shock to the audience for color the producers make the slippers are ruby colored.
