History but specially faith in my religion assisted with the bible I read reveal to me the different aspects and events in the creation of the world I live in. According to my faith, the world was created by one God. This only God created earth and the sky, and all the things found in it. The creation of land according to the Iroquois is illogical because land can’t be created by having a little bit of dirt and dancing around it on a turtle’s back. In both creation myths there are many similarities as there are many differences. To begin with, the Great Tree from the Iroquois myth compares with the Sacred Tree in the Bible. A creator can’t have ambition in his heart and shouldn’t want to create something just to beat the creations someone else made. In the catholic religion God was all knowing and didn’t create anything by ambition or to harm anyone. Life can’t be created by human beings that’s why I believe one supernatural being created everything that exists. “The World on the Turtle’s Back” also relates closely to the Bible in the part that one twin kills the other, like Cain and Abel in the Bible. In the Iroquois’ version one twin represents good and the other one represents evil, and that one lives below ground and the other one lives above ground. This also relates to God and the devil. Although both twins have the same power, God is all powerful and almighty and the devil is not. Also in both myths the first humans on Earth could communicate with animals, Eve talked with the snake and the woman talked to the turtle and sea creatures. In both stories human beings were created from clay or soil and were created from that and when they died they would become that. Also humans had the liberty to choose from good or evil, and that humans were left in charge of all the animals in the world and it is their job to take care of
