In the novel “The Great Gatsby” there are four characters in particular that are a little similar: Tom and Daisy Buchanan, Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby. They’re upper class people but how they got there is different. Every character in this novel has different features basing on their houses and personalities. The houses of all the characters are pretty similar, but, their personalities are quite different. As everything sums up we can confirm that these characters all relate in some type of way. To start off, there’s Nick, he seems to be a little different from the others, personality wise he was raised in a family where he reserves judgement. Nick has a moral sense unlike the others He was raised in the Midwest and when he realized he wanted to get into business. He’s not so self-centered and he moves out to New york to get away from the Midwest to earn his money instead off inheriting it from his parents. He participated in the third division war with Gatsby. Once Nick was exposed to his new friends, Tom and Daisy, he realizes that they’re unthoughtful, selfish, judgemental people and he's doesn't like that. He wasn’t raised like the others. Gatsby is a very mysterious man. For example, he hosts parties but he has never been seen at any of them. Also, the first appearance of him in the book Nick sees him one second and then he's gone. He’s also a modest man and has a rare smile. Additionally, Gatsby is a humble man, for example, when Nicks gets Gatsby’s invitations it says ‘little party’ when clearly none of Gatsby’s parties are little. He comes from the Midwest just like Nick and was raised by an unsuccessful farmer. Gatsby is a romantic, hopeful guy. He was a part of the war and there's something gorgeous about his personality.
