In the short story All Summer In A Day, Ray Bradbury uses metaphors, similes, and symbolism to show how important the sun is to the children, especially Margot. Since it’s been raining nonstop on Venus for seven years, the sun finally coming out is a huge deal to the students, and to Margot even more so because she lives on Earth so she can remember the sun better than any other kid. Throughout the story, there are elements of symbolism such as the sun, rain, and the closet Margot’s classmates locked her in.
