Simone Biles Life And Accomplishments

Simone Biles an African American teenager, has done more than anyone has expected. She was one of the few women to represent the United States of America in 2016 at the Olympics. Since Black History Month is approaching it is time to celebrate the accomplishment of our fellow African Americans. Simone Biles is not only a inspiration to other young gymnasts, but also to me. Simone Biles has faced a lot of tribulations growing up as a child but has not let that stop her from becoming greatness. Simone Biles was born on March 14,1997 in Columbus, Ohio to her grandparents Nelle and Ronald Biles. She was adopted to her grandparents due to her mother going through the struggle of substance abuse. She has three siblings: Ronald II, Adam and Adria. Biles hometown is Spring, Texas where she has graduated the class of 2015, she was home schooled. Simone enjoys hanging out with friends and going shopping and most importantly, gymnastics. Simone Biles was asked how did she get into gymnastics; her response was “I went to Bannon's on a day care field trip. While there I imitated the other gymnasts, and Coach Ronnie noticed. The gym sent home a letter requesting that I join tumbling or gymnastics.” As she explained to The Hollywood Reporter. She then began doing gymnastics in 2003 at the age of 6.

Biles began competing as a level 8 gymnast in 2007, and by 2011 she had cemented her standing at the junior elite level. That year, she took the top spot in the vault and balance beam events and finished third in the all-around at the American Classic. Also, she delivered a historic showing at the World Championships by becoming the first female African-American athlete to win gold in the all-around. In 2015, Biles became the first woman to win her third consecutive world all-around title, giving her a record 10 gold medals at the international
