Simple Living a simple life allows you to clearly see the importance of life itself. Thoreau went to live in Walden to live life and to fully understand its importance. Thoreau is known for famously chanting, “Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity!” He desired to demonstrate that a simple life has its advantages. Those advantages allow one to be relieved of the unimportant stresses of society and show that nature brings out the simplicity one needs in life. Nature brings peace, allowing one to relax, taking the mind away from the society that is promoting complexity.
