The three biggest qualities of a hero that I found in the source above were courage, selflessness, and perseverance. They demonstrate his ability to grow and learn from his mistakes. Rather than being a perfect, flawless hero, his flaws make him more relatable, as he struggles with his own imperfections. Rowling's Harry Potter series and Frodo Baggins from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Like Gawain, Harry Potter and Frodo Baggins are both flawed characters who face challenges and obstacles that test their strength, courage, and morals. They are also likable characters who earn respect from their peers, despite the flaws they have. For Harry, he is brave and loyal but at the same time impulsive and reckless. His flaws sometimes lead him into trouble, but he learns from his mistakes and becomes an overall better person because of them (Philip). Similarly, Gawain's flaws lead him to make mistakes, but he also learns from them and becomes a wiser and overall better knight. Frodo Baggins is also like Gawain, is a hero with flaws but at the same time likable. Frodo is a hobbit who isn’t a natural hero and is normally unsure of himself.
