Griffin Ruszkowski Teacher Name ELA 8 Due Date “Catchy, Interesting Essay Title” We've all been in situations where we think things look easy and they end up being really hard.The text tells the story of a kid who was kidnapped but is very wild, then it goes very unplanned for the kidnappers. In the short story “The Ransom of Red Chief” by O. Henry,the author uses situational irony, hyperbole and comic characters & caricatures to show that situations that look easy can end up being hard. Situational irony is used in the story to add unexpected humor and hae the reader intersted on what is going to happen next. As an example, in this story you can see how the kidnappers are scared of the kid. For example, in the story Bill states, “He's got me going. You won't leave me long with him, will you, Sam?"
