SkillsUSA is a student led organization for students in career technical schools. This organization's purpose is to turn us students into leaders, skilled workers, and responsible adults. Doing so SkillsUSA improves America’s skilled workforce. I have participated in the SkillsUSA organization since my first year at the school Career and Technology Education Centers also know as C-TEC. C-TEC is the technical school for Licking County. Being a part of SkillsUSA my Junior year and Senior year has transferred me into a young adult. I competed in the State Competition for State office. I gave a speech in front of more than two hundred state voting delegates. Sadly, I didn’t get the position, but it has taught me many skills along the way. We created many relationships with advisers and students from technical schools. We participated in mock interviews, Summer Camp election as voting delegates, and other leadership activities. The long exciting week came to an end. I was then elected as the local chapter President for C-TEC. As president, I have led an open ceremony twice in front of more than five hundred eighty students. Being a Leader and having the opportunity where others look up to me has been a proud moment. I was inducted into Heath High School National Honor Society my Junior year. Being a part of these organizations has given me the opportunity to continue to give back to my community. When an adult asks me what I plan to do in my future? My first thought is to go to college but why? I want to go to college because I want to continue this journey of growth. I want to become the best I can be. I want all the teachers, coaches, and the community that has affected my life to be as proud as I am to lead the largest successful organizations for student’s
