I was doing a lot of research and I read on several cases but one that stood out to me the most was two 13-year-old girls that was accused of murder to impress a fictional character Slender man. They were tried as adults in the murder case. The teens were treated differently by the judge’s order. Many children that are tried in the state of Wisconsin could potentially face longer jail time and far less resources. They could also be potentially abused in the adult settings. When they were convicted they would go into detention center where they would be supervised. At the age of 18 they could be released back to their families. In the court in Wisconsin if they were tried as an adult they could face up to 65 years in prison and stay in the system under the Department of Correction. In this case they remained in adult court. The judge wanted to make sure that they received the proper medical care. The teen girls tried to murder their classmate. They wanted everyone to believe that the Slender Man was a real character. The two teen girls stabbed their classmate over 19 times and left her for dead. They felt no remorse for their actions and they thought it was okay to do such a horrific crime. They were even making up excuses of why they did this to their classmate.
