In the large text of the poster, “tiny” and “bigger” are juxtaposed in the same sentence. This headline makes the reader think twice before realizing that smart management of tiny loans (microfinance) can have a big impact on a company’s efficiency. Concise, factual and clear diction in the poster implies confidence and certitude, branding IBM as the expert partner. The larger text uses “can” to suggest potential and delineate a very possible future. By factually describing IBM’s role in the improvement of the bank in India in the smaller text, IBM’s global reach is emphasized because sufficient evidence of IBM’s success is described. However, the most effective form of communication in the poster is the visual of the elephant and a mouse, designed by Noma Bar. The animals seem to draw from the bolded, “tiny” and “bigger” to visualize the impact that small can have on big, as we all know how a tiny mouse can affect an enormous elephant. The graphic adds a dimension to the piece that makes the audience connect with it beyond the facts.
