A reboot of an old movie “Sneakers” is in development with NBC to create a series adaptation. There is no specific target date on when this series is expected to air.
“Sneakers” is a 1992 film starred by Robert Redford with a character named Martin Bishop. He heads a group of computer specialists who tests the security of some companies in San Francisco. They hack a computer system to check whether a company’s security has flaws and can be hacked easily by hackers.
Until someone from National Security Agency (NSA) asked his help to steal a black box which was invented to crack any encryption code. Martin acknowledged the job considering the possible threat that black box can do if it goes to wrong hands, but sooner he realizes that the NSA officer he spoke with is a rogue one. …show more content…

Moreover, in Empire online report, the upcoming “Sneakers” TV series will be produced by the same duo Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. The former “The Mentalist” executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi will pen the script and be the overall creative authority of the program.
Also, “Sneakers” is not the only 90s film that is in development for TV adaptation. In MovieHole report, ABC taps “Enemy of the State” movie, starring by Will Smith and Gene Hackman, which will be set two decades after the original film.
