Local organizations set to take part in family-friendly event to promote hope and healing for victims in Southwest Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 25, 2016) – Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. (ACT) has announced presenting sponsor, ApothiCare 360 will join the lineup of organizations supporting Snow Day 2016, the family-friendly fundraiser, which will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Pediatric Dentistry of Fort Myers. As the only licensed and certified domestic and sexual violence center in Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties, ACT is a nonprofit providing safe, free, and confidential services for all survivors of domestic and sexual abuse seeking services. In 2015, the agency provided 5,654 clients with services. 256 were victims of sexual assault, of which 125 received the forensic examination for rape. In addition, 650 clients stayed in ACT’s safe shelters (nearly half of whom were children).
