DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS AND MIRROR MIRROR

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is an animated fantasy film based on the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White presented at the Carthay Circle Theatre on December 21, 1937. The tale tells of the adventures of a princess who is sent to the forest in order to be killed by a black-hearted and jealous stepmother. It has been adapted to theater and cinema many times. One adaptation was produced by Walt Disney Productions. The other version was released on March 20, 2012 and directed by Tarsem Singh. Although the one adaptation was produced in 1937, the use of colorization enriches the animation visually. In the 2012 version, comedy has also brought in a different dimension from the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This is one of the most important differences. …show more content…

In the 1937 version while princess is singing a song by looking at the wishing well, the prince appears on the top of the horse and they fall in love with each other. The confrontation of prince and princess of the 2012 version is very discrete from both tale and the 1937 version. Princess encounters with the prince in the forest, neither the prince nor the princess know each other. They learn who they are (prince,princess) at a party organized by the Queen. When we look at the differences of the editing in both versions, in the 2012 version it is said that the king is eaten by a beast. Actually, the king is not eaten by a beast. At the beginning of the movie Queen makes the king fall in love with herself by practicing magic and she marries him in order to keep all properties of king. Later on she transforms the king into a beast so, the beast itself is actually the king. Towards the end of the movie princess understands that the queen directs the beast by a necklace on neck of her so, princess pulls off the necklace on neck
