In the late 1700’s to early 1800’s, the Northern United States went through some changes later known as the Industrial Revolution. These changes were Climate and Geography, Economy, Transportation, and Society. Climate and Geography is what started all this, so we’ll start our journey there. In the early 1700’s, everything was done by hand, especially farming. But in the north the soil was too rocky and not good for crops, and it was too cold all the time for anything to grow there anyway. That was a problem because the world was already economically based and back then the only way people made money was by growing crops for food and cotton for clothes.
