The theory of social darwinism is that an individual, or group of people are all under the same darwinian law. Herbert Spencer, was a nineteenth century philosopher and promoted the idea of social darwinism and said it could be applied to social, political, and economic issues, and his philosophy was loosely based on the work of darwin’s theory of natural selection so the theory of social darwinism is not concrete. It also follows the mantra or saying of “the strongest will survive”. However according to the evolutionary process nature is on a “kill-or-be-killed” basis so if they cannot keep up they will be left behind or cut off. This theory of social darwinism is implemented to the novel, “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair, and we can see this
