The social impact of the industrial revelation on the US had many plus' and minus'. The invention of the factories were very eye opening to many people. They now could use water powered machines to do work that would take them much longer to do by hand. This gave a rise to urban centers and created an independent economic life. People now could move from one social class to another because the job required very little talent and education. The factory system allowed for an increase of production at a cheaper cost and turned the US into a consumer economy. The new factories completely replaced the cottage industry. There were many negatives, all the women and children that were hired were hired cheaply and the men had a higher pay rate. The
