The organization being consulted is the National Education Association (NEA), known to be the largest professional interest group in the United States. Since 2002, the National Education Association mission is to progress and advance education every step of the way in public schooling. From preschool to university graduate programs, the NEA believes every student needs the proper education to prepare them for the real world. In a more memorable revision of their mission statement: ‘No person is ever poor if they have their education’ – this is true, education is beyond an immeasurable value, even public education, but only if we make it.
Information about the National Education Association can be found on their website, www.nea.org. For the most part, the website is visibly appealing, easy to navigate and has abundant of information and content. Also, not only is the website informative, the content, tips and tools on the website are actually useful for both educators and students. On both Facebook and Instagram, the NEA posts content on current events relating to education, statements from real educators and quotes from influential figures. They also keep their information up to date and post regularly. However, the NEA’s social media is not wowing or “scroll- worthy”. As a millennial myself, I know that to have an influential presence in social media, their must be content that is “like-worthy” or “share-worthy”. To improve the NEA’s social media, there needs to be better quality in photos and videos, interesting and controversial viral videos such as social experiments or interviews and have celebrities or icons to raise awareness on the organization. With these improvements, the NEA’s social media will gain more followers, thus be more influential in the social media
