Conversation Synthesis As technology advances media becomes more prominent in our society and culture. Now a day’s pictures of thin models and photoshopped advertisements are hanging everywhere and impossible to escape. Media is constantly pushing these unrealistic images and advertisements on both women and girls pressuring them to live up to an unattainable beauty standard. While there are many aspects to the problems media causes the main three are Medias influence on children, the development of eating disorders and self-esteem levels. Another research paper by Kevin Thompson and Leslie Heinberg reaffirms this by stating “Of 3,452 women responding, 23% indicated that movie or television celebrities influenced their body image when they were young, and 22% endorsed the influence of fashion magazine models” (341).
