People need authentic human interaction to be truly happy. This claim is supported by the novel, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the film, Pleasantville directed by Gary Ross, and the article, Why Loneliness Is Bad for Your Health by Nancy Shute. In Fahrenheit 451, people need authentic human interaction to be truly happy. This is supported with Montag and Mildred’s relationship and how Mildred says the parlor walls are “really fun” (18), but she still tried to commit suicide.
There is no worry of trying to meet people for contentment. Solitude can be easier to manage and has the possibility of being a much more self-sufficient source of pleasure. Being alone does not have the various benefits that arise from companionship, but all conflict is internal and autonomous. Inner conflict is simple and does not rely on the randomness of external
People of different ethnicities are often judged for their characteristics and where they are from. In the situation within The Color Purple, Caucasian and African American people deal with racism and criticism. White people were arrogant, insulting, and impudent towards blacks because racism played a huge role in how certain individuals were treated. According to an author for the American Psychological Association, Kirsten Weir, stress impacts the production of hormones and the functioning of the immune system (Weir). A recent study conducted by Emory University School of Medicine found that the inflammatory immune response, impacted by stress, “has also been linked to a variety of bodily ills, from diabetes and heart disease to depression” (Weir). Margot Putukian, a member of the NCAA Education Outreach, has noticed the impacts of stress on student-athletes and believes the primary concerns, regarding the prevalence of mental illness within the population of student-athletes, are the effects mental illness brings to their success in academics, athletics, and their general well-being (Putukian). Balancing the demands of being an athlete and a student places a large amount of pressure on the individual. This balancing act leads to many health issues affecting student athletes across many components of their life
In today’s society, a major recurring question involves the amount of emphasis that should be placed on ourselves compared to that we place and spend with others in our social life. In a society so fixated around human interaction, could humans possibly reach a un- describable capacity of internal happiness through living in a state of solitude? Humans can be described by many as social beings, therefore, the constant social interaction would seem necessary for one’s happiness but at many times, we seek a more pleasurable experience through solitude especially regarding interaction with strangers. A diagnosis of solitude’s effect on happiness is described in “Mistakenly Seeking Solitude” by Nicholas Epley and Juliana Schroeder, “The Measurement of Self-Sufficiency” by Robert Bernreuter and “Happy Like God” by Simon Critchley.

Jerquan Stewart Essay 2 11/15/17 The differences between loneliness and isolation is that loneliness is when you don 't have any friends or family and just alone and isolation is when you choose to be by yourself , as in isolating yourself from everything.
