These are often referred to as the credentials. There are different levels and type of credentials such as voluntary credentials these often show professional commitment and represent a license plus. Often times the highly credentialed professionals fill higher positions within agencies that involve key leadership. This can often prove to be a big factor when it comes to salary. According to National Association of Social Workers “Credentialed social workers are recognized as having in-depth knowledge, proven work experience, leadership capacity, competence, and dedication to the social work profession (NASW Professional Social Work Credentials and Advanced Practice Specialty Credentials).” This passage shows that a social worker is thought of differently if they have high credentials. They offer a program where I could attend North Dakota State University and receive credits for it. My freshman year I would be taking classes such as college composition 1, fundamentals of public speaking, humanities course, composition 2, skills for academic success, american government, intro to family science, introduction to sociology, introduction to psychology, science elective, and introduction to HDRS. I would be able to start working on my generals while taking some other classes to help me get my degree. My sophomore, junior, and senior year I would be taking classes based around english, sociology, psychology, human growth and development, and marriage and family studies. This would help me to gain a lot of knowledge in the social worker field. It would also help me to gain experience while getting an education. I also really like the fact that I can attend NDSU for this through the MSU program. This would allow me to be much closer to my family and friends. For an undergraduate the annual tuition is $6,568.
