There is no other field that both challenges and inspires me to succeed and grow professionally than the field of social work. I look to not only progress further in my studies, but utilize this in my pursuit of helping others. Through my work and volunteer experiences as well as my academic studies, I possess the necessary skills and knowledge needed to excel in the MSW program. I hold extensive experience in working with a diverse population as well as implementing culturally appropriate resources and services. During my time working with domestic violence victims, I worked closely with individuals of all backgrounds. This took the form of long, rigorous study hours, volunteer work to gain more insight into my field of study, as well as harnessing the drive and determination that drove myself. With the rigorous, demanding course load of the master’s program, I plan to devote more time to not only master the underlying mechanisms that comprise social work, but ultimately apply these advanced concepts in practice. With helping others being my main driving force, I look to delve deeper within the social work field through more direct work with clients. I plan to research cases studied both past and present, and how this applies to the clients I will be working with. I look to study my clients to not only see what drives their ambitions and motivates their behaviors, but also how I can utilize this to create a step-by-step plan towards helping them reach their end goals. In my pursuit of helping clients, I ultimately look to progress as a social worker, help my community, and in a broader sense, change and impact
