. We set our society on three commandments. We do not welcome stealers, murderers, or those who envy others. Our city’s motto is Pride, Hospitality, and Selflessness. Everyone one in the city shares those three characteristics. We all get along quite well. Everyone follows all of our rules. Page Break First Accepted: You shall not murder The first commandment we based Pridity on is “You shall not murder”. First of all it would not be very mannerly of one to kill another human being. Killing another human being goes against our motto. It is very unkind and to take another person’s life in all circumstances. Aside from our motto however, killing another human is not acceptable. We use this commandment for many reasons. Stealing show envy, you are putting your needs before another’s, and you are looking for something more. Wanting something else is not prideful at all. In Pridity we founded ourselves on pride. We should be proud of what we have instead of wanting more. Stealing is sinful and no one should be proud of that. By putting your needs before another’s you are being selfish. Selfish is the opposite of selflessness. We founded Pridity on selflessness. By stealing you are only thinking about yourself and how you could be benefitted. The person you are stealing from will lose something that they worked for. When you steal you are taking someone’s possessions. The worked for everything they have. By stealing you are taking away their hard work. That is not fair. You should have to work for everything just like everyone else did. By stealing you are showing that you want something more. We do not tolerate such an act. By being thankful for what we have we are more grateful for the life god has given us. If we can learn to be grateful for everything we have and not what others have we won’t be jealous, or desire something more. The poor don’t have much. But they are always thankful for what they do have. They are happy to receive a new coat or a nice meal that many of us take for granted. They don’t desire more they are happy with what they have. Craving anything that is your neighbors is not taking Pride in what you have. You feel like there is always something better than what you have. You don’t take pride in what you do have. Openly coveting is considered a sin. If you covet inside your head that is not a good thing but there is nothing we can do about it. If you covet you should consider yourself a sinner. Those who sin are not accepted in our society. The punishment for coveting is self-inflicted. People in our society wont want to be friendly to those who covet.
