1. How does information technology affect socioeconomic disparities? Explain your answer.
Information technology affects socioeconomic disparities because minorities are eliminating socioeconomic disparities rather than reinforcing it by implementing the new technology. Overtime the cost of technology has decreased because of all the advancement, making it easier for minorities to get access to new technology with them being more economically efficient and affordable. Since technology has come out the largest increase in the amount of time that young people spend with entertainment media has occurred among minority youth. Young people are now spending more time on their phones then they do talking on them. Technology users from poorer and less educated backgrounds are using technology to reinforce rather than eliminate socioeconomic disparities as this suggests a new divide.
