As described in the textbook “You May Ask Yourself” Sociological imagination is the ability to connect the most basic, intimate aspects of an individual’s life to seemingly impersonal and remote historical forces. Sociology is the study of the human society. Since I have mentioned in the Sociology Biography Part I, that I and my family immigrated o United States of America in April 2010 from India. That was big changed in our lifestyle and big shocked in culture differences. I was born and brought up in India. There were big gender inequalities difference in some areas of India, because back then in India women could not go out after some time, and women had to be housewife and take care of her husband and children even though they have higher education they cannot work because of their family restrictions and society after marriage. In US women can work. They can go out anytime without any restrictions. Let me tell my own family example, my mother and aunts did not work in India, now they have been working since last five years in Unites States. My class status impacted my life. I personally believe that your neighborhood and community would affect most on the person’s behavior. Back in my home town Vadodara our family was the consider as the renowned family because of our surname “Shah”, and everyone respect us and ask for any help without any hesitation. My father organized the society event to connect to the community. In US we are getting healthcare compare to India, because I still remember that my grandfather definitely could be saved if they got right treatment at the right time.
