What is the sociological perspective? The sociological perspective is the study of human life and social interactions, as well as how those interactions shape groups and society as a whole, and how it builds our conventional wisdom of how our society produces deviant individuals. The sociological perspective expands our conventional wisdom about the three social problems i’m about to bring up. We got obesity, cyber bullying, and teenage pregnancy. These three things have one thing in common; poverty and lack of education. First, we got obesity's conventional wisdom. The sociological perspective on obesity is that people in the category obese don't necessarily want to be in the section but are in there because of convenience. The problem isn't just obesity but now society treats people who are overweight. They were first taunted for being overweight now it's getting worse that random people can go up to a overweight person and tell them to change or that they are who they are, it's not like they don't know. They wake up everyday knowing this. They have the guilt of it everyday. They want to change themselves but someone always discourages them. “In reinforcing negative sentiment toward fat people and providing justifications for size discrimination, news reporting about obesity masks alternative ways to see the issue.” and “For starters, news reports erroneously foster the impression that we are all equally at risk of becoming obese. It’s true anyone can gain weight by eating the wrong foods and exercising too infrequently. At the same time, we must acknowledge an unmistakable social pattern: obesity is most prevalent among the least educated people and least prevalent among the most educated.” it's saying that most of the people that are overweight weren't properly educated with wrong eatings and exercising, they know the concepts of it but they don't know they the real meaning of …show more content…

The conventional wisdom of cyberbullying is that society sees it as a kid trying to cause problems or trying to run away from their problems. That people being cyberbullied are “asking for it” but in reality these kids that do anything to deserve that. cyber bullying is just a great cause of suicide people don't see it but it is one cause. Suicide is a such a serious topic that need to be addressed carefully. Suicide happen of lack of combination, trust, self esteem, and many other factors that society and other close family members don't see.
