The pre-Socratic philosophers were preoccupied with know the origin of universe, what is the origin of everything including the proper man. When it comes to the Socrates and other the subject changes, for Socrates and others the center of discussion was about how to live a good life (the way of living). This is why in Phaedo Socrates give us the images of a true philosopher, in wish he believed that a true philosopher is the one who leaves a good life and is occupied in practicing of dying because is through death that a philosopher shall attain wisdom. for Socrates a true philosopher does not fear death and has self-control. Socrates point out the existence of the supreme being. The being is completely pure and those who have lived a god life will join the. In the Phaedo Socrates emphasizes more in living a good life and living a good life. That is the strongest point when he talks to Simmias and Cebes. (Kevin Durand 9). One can ask how did Socrates view the work? Was it for him an impeachment to reach the gods that he sees as he highest?
