Since the beginning of times, people have gotten into muddles and explained their side of the story with the truth with one or two lies. Nowadays, people, businesses and including nations have censored their media, like North Korea, to falsely lead people into believing that they are the good guys. The government sometimes censor news to prevent us from learning about the issues that go against them or affect us like when Socrates was sentenced to death, and how the national government of Mexico cheated in an election. Socrates’s death was the response of a government of Athens trying to keep their people from expanding their knowledge to the world they considered unknown and dangerous. The government took a leap of faith when they decided to use dirty money because when it comes to paying them back, it could be a high price. It is shocking enough that they used dirty money, but the fact that they don’t negate it is insane. The PRI had been in power since 1929 and up until 2000 that it finally was beaten. It is a shame that after 7 decades they were pushed to the point of “resorting to outright vote-rigging and even violence” (Mexican). In early September of 2017, the press released an article stating that “the federal government of Mexico diverted billions of pesos through a network of funds between federal agencies, public universities and false companies” (Univision) to fund their million dollar plans. A little under 200 companies were given funds for their establishments and over half of them were ineligible to receive funds. These companies were simply false, or nonexistent. Sadly, this charade has been going on since 2013 and most likely even earlier than that. This allows others to assume the connection between the government and the people. The people of Mexico work hard laboring jobs to earn their money, from which they pay taxes and required fees. This amount of money goes to the local schools, businesses, and law enforcements. The money is stolen from these local areas and used for government purposes.
