Softbots and robots are everywhere in our daily life but do humans trust them? And how far can we go in implementing ethics codes in robotics? According to Prof. Rafael Capurro (2006) study, softbots can perform complicated planning and inferencing operations before any human observer can. Softbots understand what is happening as they are designed for human activities. However, some people think that robots are nothing but machines and they do not have a free well. After conducting a lot of experiments, Prof. Rafael Capurro (2006) announced that softbots can have emotions and act as a human from experience. In addition, it is possible to develop an ethical framework for using softbots in a society considering the legal and security implication and responsibility, but only as entities that can perform …show more content…
Softbots have been developing rapidly in the past few years, causing a division of tasks between humans and robots. The study state that by combining learning with autonomy it will be easy to shape responsibility policies into robots and softbots. Therefore, softbots will act ethically and have a civil right in the society. Gordana and Daniel (2008) suggest that moral responsibility are not an individual duty but a role of a group. In addition, softbots are part of the society as they can have ethical rules of behavior. Gordana and Daniel (2008) main concerns are: "How to evaluate technologies in the face of uncertainty" and "How safe is safe enough" as it is the intelligent softbots responsibility to prevent harm. Therefore, if robots could act as role models when humans have difficulty in some situations, it will reinforce the ethical behavior in humans. In conclusion, having intelligent softbots at making the decision based on an experience that can prevent harm and handle risk will help to develop a secure
