3 Technical background
3.1 Solar energy
Sunlight is a portion of the electromagnetic radiation given off by the Sun, in particular infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light. On Earth, sunlight is refined through Earth 's atmosphere, and is obvious as daylight when the Sun is above the horizon. When the direct solar radiation is not blocked by clouds, it is experienced as sunshine, a combination of bright light and radiant heat. When it is blocked by the clouds or reflects off other objects, it is experienced as diffused light.
Solar irradiance is the power per unit area produced by the Sun in the form of electromagnetic radiation. Irradiance may be measured in space or at the Earth 's surface after atmospheric absorption and scattering. Total

Its history spans from the 7th Century Before century to today. It started out concentrating the sun’s heat with glass and mirrors to light flames. Today, it has everything from solar-powered buildings to solar- powered vehicles.
I. 1767, First Solar Collector:
In the year 1767 a Swiss scientist named Horace-Benedict de Saussure invented the first solar collector – an insulated box covered with three layers of glass to absorb heat energy.
II. 1908, Copper Collector:
In 1908 William J. Baileys invented a copper collector which was constructed using copper coils and boxes. The copper collector was an improvement of the earlier done collector but the only modification was the use of copper insulation. The developments of the invention are being used to manufacture today’s equipment.
3.1.3 Solar in UAE
UAE vision 2021 to have a sustainable environment. Vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai launches the "Green Economy for Sustainable Development". Dubai has Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 (DIES) was organized in 2011 to set the strategic direction of Dubai towards securing sustainable supply of energy and enhancing demand efficiency of water, power and
