In the music video for Twenty One Pilots’ song Stressed Out the artists use rhetorical devices to connect with their audience. The speaker, or main singer, is trying to communicate to the audience (listeners) that growing has resulted in being stressed out and has a nostalgia for childhood. The credibility of the music video comes from the many people who have heard this song played countless times over the radio and even in places of business and grew to become familiar with the name of the artist, Twenty One Pilots.
In “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, the author uses diction like abstract diction and details by explaining what he exactly wants in life to demonstrate Walter and his dream. To begin, Hansberry uses diction to demonstrate Walter and his dream by using abstract diction. She does this by explaining how he will give Travis anything for his seventeenth birthday and that he will “hand you the world!” (2.2). This shows that he wants to make his sons life as good as possible.
Water is the greatest resource upon the Earth, but what happens when it runs out? Even worse, what happens when humans bottle the water, of which all life relies on, and sells it to us with false claims? Well, we've already been on the receiving end of this trick for years, almost unknowingly. The documentary Tapped, directed by Stephanie Soechtig and Jason Lindsey, gives a look into the bottled water industry and the effects it has on society. The film taps into human emotions, brings about logical reasoning and statistics, and uses sources with valid credibility to address a hidden issue.

As far as living more worthy, I believe they are absolutely further needy. This is not regarding observing the playing field - this is almost selfless giving to comfort life and adjust some of the consequences of hopeless hardship. Singer begins by exclaiming into question how valuable a human life is and how at ease everyone can commend that a human life would be appreciated in the millions. Singer also emphasizes that we are be capable to conclude that all humans are shaped equal, at least to the level of refuting that a difference of sex, nationality, background and place of home change the worth of a human living.
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
Have you ever wonder how does a crime scene investigator, known as a CSI, discover blood spatter on different fabrics, which is not visible to the human eye? The key is bluestar. According to the article “Influence of Bluestar Reagent on Blood Spatter Stain of Different Fabrics” by Arnon Grafit, bluestar is a “luminol-based reagent that is applied by spraying on surface.” Not only that, but “it helps obtain DNA and to analyze spatters patterns. By analyzing the article the reader is able to understand how bluestar works through the rhetorical techniques used.
For this paper I am going to rhetorically analyze the song “The World Was Wide Enough.” This song comes from the musical Hamilton: An American Musical, which is about The Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. It has always been society’s way to go with the public opinion whether it be factually correct or not. Public opinion is the collection of views prevalent among the general public. This trend can be seen everywhere, and has been around for a long time.
“To Dance with the Devil” tells of the hardships and negative consequences that were a result from coal mining. The article sheds light on the struggles and difficulties caused by coal mining. The rhetoric qualities of the text enlightens readers of the many ramifications of coal mining in southern West Virginia. Throughout the text, the reader is informed by the multitude of rhetoric qualities of the text. “To Dance with the Devil” informs readers of the many consequences that have come from coal mining in southern West Virginia.
I chose this song because I appreciated the correlation of personal history of Ed Sheeran connecting to his audience to add to the level of empathy in his lyrics. Doing this short essay showed me the point of poems is for the subject to leave an affect on the reader, so I felt that highlighting the allusion, simile, and personification gave an implication of knowing the deep meaning behind the music. Realizing the purpose of this piece communicating the sentiment, idea, and concept let me wring out the expression of emotion Sheeran used in this particular song. Also recollecting that this song is performed for a show known as Sons of Anarchy which is a dramatic program about bikers specifically, however correlates with all sorts of topics.
folklore: The Rhetorical Analysis Taylor Swift released an album in 2020 called folklore, which many people believe is her deepest album with the most meaningful and gut-wrenching songs. Throughout the album, Swift discusses very personal emotions such as suicidal thoughts, regretting her entrance to the music industry, living to please others, and highlights the different eras of her music career. Taylor Swifts album folklore creates the overall message that the music industry fosters an extremely toxic environment and exemplifies how it impacts artists mental health and well-being through metaphors, imagery, and repetition. While creating my rhetorical analysis paper I used all of my typical writing processes. I began this assignment by selecting a commercial that I thought would be the most appealing in the superbowl. After selecting my commercial I did some research at the library using EBSCOhost. I then created an outline on what my paper would be about and pieced all of its parts together. In the future I will try to recieve help earlier on because at first I struggled to understand what the purpose of the paper was.
Moving on to the chorus wouldn 't be smooth without the E chord as it would be a difficult transition to the first chord of the chorus if the verse was to end on an F#. The unpredictability and the fun mood of the song is caused by the E chord which is used as a tool to change the key of the song to A. all in major, the chords A, F# & D are the only ones played in the chorus and the smooth transition back to the verse is due to the chorus ending on a major F#. The mood is positively affected by a horn within the chorus. Piccolo solo played by David Mason brings upon a perfect timbre and shows a different type of creativity as it plays a countermelody. The guitar played by George Harrison is blends in perfectly which also adds timbre while cello is added in about 2:04 and plays softly in the background creating contrast between verses.
