Checker made this song in his own version which came to be more popular. That song was popular back in the 1960 and it still it. The song has come out and many different movies where people are just dancing to the rhythm. Who would not want to dance to that music? When you compare it to Elvis music there is some similarity there. When you compare it to "Dream Lover" by Bobby Darin it has a different tone to it. The song the "Dream Lover" is more of a slow song with not so much movement in the body. The song "The Twist" has a fast past and it moves the body at a fast pace. Once you hear the song you can tell the artist singing it is having fun. I think that what this song was about to have a fun dancing move to enjoy with friends. If this song was popular for the youth I can image why because the youth is where people are dancing more and enjoying themselves. After watching videos of people dancing to this song I realize the steps are easy to do. Well, actually it 's not that hard since you just move your hips side to side. Some people that were in the video were a little too much. They would move there hips like if they were going to break them. It was pretty funny to watch but it also looked so fun.
