Soraya M was a young married woman who was stoned to death by friends, family and neighbors. She was executed by stoning because she was wrongfully accused of adultery in a remote village in Iran in 1986. The charge brought against her was a complete fabrication concocted by her unfaithful husband. Soraya ended up paying for his lies with her life because he was actually the one committing adultery and was no longer happy with their marriage. Her husband Ali was sleeping with prostitutes and flaunting it. Unhappy with his actions, Soraya stopped doing her wifely duties. She was no longer sleeping with him and doing the things that made him happy. In response to her actions, he turned her sons against her and began beating on her. In an effort to leave to the marriage, Ali threatened a man in the village to help him get rid of his marriage. The man went to Soraya and told her that Ali met a woman he wanted to marry, but can't support two wives. The man then went on to tell Soraya that Ali had been complaining about her. Ali was telling people in the village that his wife doesn't speak to him and that she neglects him. The lies that Ali told on his wife ultimately led to her death sentence.
