Persuasive Commentary on the Exploration of Space Good afternoon, Mrs. Jimenez and peers. I am Sydney Reed, and today I will be presenting my viewpoint on the topic of extreme exploration of space. It is of some debate if this exploration is worth the risk it poses. Some argue that it is costly and dangerous, and they claim it is not worth the risks and costs. On the other hand, it is highlighted that space exploration is worth the risk because of the possible technological advancements and potential new planets to settle on. The stark reality is that space exploration is worth the risks; it is the demonstration of human’s desire to learn and explore. This is because it could lead to new, life-changing technologies and …show more content…

In the speech, “Remarks at the Dedication of the Aerospace Medical Health Center” by J.F.K., he states, “...medical space research may revolutionize the technology and techniques of modern medicine. Whatever new devices are created, for example, to monitor our astronauts, to measure their heart activity, their breathing,...will also represent a major advance in general medical instrumentation” (Kennedy 187). In the evidence, J.F.K. proves how the inventions created for space travel will also advance technologies for the everyday citizens of Earth. This means that more people would be able to be treated by these new inventions, otherwise unthought of if not for space exploration. Imagine the patients who hear they could be cured of their ailments after years of hospitalization;, the families who learn their loved ones could come home! Space exploration could create a utopia tomorrow. This makes it evident that space exploration should go on and is worth the risks, as it allows for inventions to be made that can benefit the lives of the humans on the …show more content…

In reality, though, it is worth it for the lives that new technologies can save. Kennedy, in his speech, “Remarks at the Dedication of the Aerospace Medical Health Center”, states, “...medical space research may revolutionize the technology and the techniques of modern medicine….nursing services are being improved, enabling one nurse now to give more critically ill patients greater attention than they ever could in the past.”(Kennedy 187) This shows how the money spent saves lives. The advancements will allow more people to be cured and treated, and human lives saved are worth any cost. Beyond any doubt, space exploration is positive, and worth the challenges and the risks. It is the rainbow, discoveries are the pot, brimming with
