The Spanish tradition of bullfighting in Colombia comes to Medellin each year between January and February. Bull vs the bullfighter, “Rejoneador” (rejoneador taunt the bull using a horse) vs the bull, man vs bull. The place chosen to produce the taurine festival hold in Medellin in the bullring “Plaza de Toros la Macarena” (Location bullfights take place). People always go dressed in a special way because of the tradition, therefore, Medellin Bull Festival has maintain its potential from almost 75 years since the building of the ring in 1945, keeping the fire of the festive alive because of tradition.
The bullfighting tradition has maintains its glow for its 70 anniversary, despite the protest. The bullfighting can be an exciting, surprising event that its domicile, the stadium “Plaza de Toros la Macarena”. The pass of one bull through the ring is divided into 3 parts. Starting with an introduction, after the intro, a horse come into place and weakens the bull by striking it with a lance in his top part of the body. For the second part, the action hold in the second-third, it is where they put “Banderillas” (Banderillas are sticks with a huge arrow in the top and they stick the bull with it so it can make the bull more annoyed, and for the last part the bullfighter enters the ring and start to taunt the bull. After a few passes, the bullfighter asks permission to kill the bull to the presidency, and if they accept, he wait the bull to put its head down (this is a sign of weakness and tiredness), and after this action the bullfighter stick the sword through the body of the bull, killing it almost all the times instantly.
