I will use my education to create a strong and powerful impact. This impact will mean something to many people. It will be one of the hardest things I will have to accomplish in both my young and adult life. My impact will be becoming a special education pre-k teacher. I fell in love with the idea of becoming a special education teacher in this specific area of expertise when I was a freshman in high school. Currently, I am blessed to be employed through the Ennis High School work program at Crockett Early Childhood Center. At Crockett, I am able to work part-time as a special needs paraprofessional. This opportunity was given to me by being able to be a teacher's aide in Mrs.Mccabe’s life skills class. This has inspired me as an upcoming teacher and shown me that sewing into the lives of the younger kids can change who they are in the future for the better. Undoing the ongoing stigma society has laid out for these special needs kids is also very important for me and I will be a strong voice for the kids. Also in my time at Ennis High School, I was given the opportunity in one of my electives to be in Mrs.Kovars Ready Set Teach program for 3 years which allowed me to shadow a teacher at any of our available schools in the Ennis school district while also being able to get in-person classroom experience. My personal reason for wanting to become a teacher is to shape and mold the lives of students and be a strong and positive impact on the next generation of Ennis Texas. Kindness is a characteristic that is very important to me and I hope that I am now teaching and can teach this to all of my students for years to come!
